In the first place, sTimul is a place. One of a kind!

The monastery on the Sint-Maartenssquare in Moorsele has a fascinating history.

Built between 1780 and 1800, this nice mansion in classical style was acquired by the French congregation 'Les filles de l'Enfant-Jésus' from Lille. Guido Gezelle was even special confessor of the French nuns when he was sub-pastor in Kortrijk. World War II was a transition and the “Zusters van 't Geloof” (Tielt) got their hands on the mansion. From 1946 until 1963, a household school was  situated here.

Afterwards the home for the elderly of Moorsele was moved here: the nuns held the mansion as a monastery, while the side buildings served as a shelter for the elderly.

A new home for the elderly needed to be built for safety reasons, after which the north side wing was demolished.

Until October 2007, nurses were residing in the mansion. And from 2008 on, this beautiful building got a new destination. On April 14th 2008, sTimul : care ethical lab vzw could officially open for public.
