Linus Vanlaere, “the important step from biomedical to care ethical”
Did sTimul find Linus or was it the other way around? Fact is that this coffee-gulping ethicus promoted with a doctorate on care ethics (applied on suicide with elderly) at the “Centrum of Biomedische Ethiek en Recht” which he still is associated with. Still, care ethics to Linus is more than a cerebral construction that starts from a solid spirituality. As coordinator “Elderly ethics” in the vzw GVO, the ethical reflection is sustained and supported by a sound listening to daily care experiences. As scientific staff member of sTimul, he wants to create a care ethical reflex by applying care ethics to diverse care themes and as such give experience-based learning a deeper dimension and broader framework. In 2005 'Cirkels van Zorg' was published, of which he is co-author together with his promoter, prof. Gastmans. Followed in 2010 with 'Zorg aan zet'.Back to overview
